I have been working on a magazine called SnapMoo. For the first issue, I wanted to capture a hardcore look for the cover photo. I’m working through the photos now so I’ll post more this weekend. Here’s one of the photos…

I’ve been shooting / tweaking settings / learning the D800 this weekend. I know that many of you are anxious to see some of the results. I’ll definitely post some 14 bit RAW images for you guys to edit… once I capture something good. In the mean time, here is a D800 image downsized to 1280 pixels wide, and a second image which contains a 1:1 crop from a portion of the image. I’m pleased. with the results. 50mm f1.8G f5.6 1/640th ISO 100. 14 bit lossless compressed RAW converted to jpeg in Aperture 3. Original RAW file is 42.64mb.
One of my worse nightmares as a photographer is when a client shows up at my studio with a black or white shirt. In fact, when clients ask me what to wear, I tell them to steer clear of black, white and prints. That way, we have maximum flexibility when taking portraits. However, sometimes, people don’t ask… or they don’t pay attention when they do ask… So I deal with it. Anyway, I did it to myself for this latest photo shoot! I wore a white tank top for some high key portraits on a white backdrop.
