I finally got my new bedroom together! I did a celebratory photo shoot using natural light and my Nikon V1 with the FT1 adapter and my 17-55 f/2.8 lens. I had to challenge myself to move my body and my camera around to best use the natural light.

In Part 1, VIPs get a sample gallery of photos. Part 2 will include bunches more photos and a VIP-exclusive video explaining the details of the shoot! 🙂 Stay tuned, VIPs!!!

FT1 Adapter – Use F-Mount Lenses with your V1

SnapChick’s Product Overview

Compact, lightweight, and fast. The V1 has speed and handling which rivals Nikon’s top DSLRs. The V1 delivers top quality and quickness at an entry level price. The CX sensor allows for a lightweight body with compact lenses. Expect DSLR results with a camera no larger than most compacts. The V1 outclasses current DSLR cameras in video capabilities and frames-per-second as high as 60 fps! My favorite accessories for the Nikon V1 are the SB-N5 Speedlight and the FT1 F-Mount Lens Adapter.

I have spent much of the week working on my V1 vs D3100 DEATHMATCH. Now, you can’t compare two cameras without some lab tests… and what better lab is there than the desert?

I brought my V1, my D3100 and a friend out to the desert the other day to experiment and to prepare for the big DEATHMATCH. I didn’t do much by way of editing on these images as, after all, the DEATHMATCH is about the cameras’ capabilities, not my Aperture 3.0 and Photoshop skills. Both of these promo images happen to be taken with the V1.

VIPs, log in to see the video where I explain the technical details of the shoot. Along with the video are a whole bunch more images from both cameras!

I had some playtime in the studio with my new Nikon V1. I used my strobes and a couple different backdrops. This is only Part 1 of 2. Part 1 is the serious stuff… I got a little goofy in Part 2. 😉

VIPs, log in for lots of photos and be on the lookout for Part 2 plus a VIP video explaining the details of the shoot!

What better way to acquaint myself with the intricacies of my new Nikon V1, than to let it loose in the studio? I took a ton of photos. The studio setup was 2 Alien Bees strobes, 1 SB-800 used sometimes, and the Nikon V1 with the SB-N5. I spiced it up a bit with some random props. 😉 These photos are just a tease – parts 1 and 2 will be rolled out next week.

VIPs, make sure to log in for more photos…and keep your eyes peeled for a “making of the shoot” video next week.
